Wine Tours: Somerset West Winelands: When visiting the Cape Winelands, most people will head to Stellenbosch or Franschoek for wine tasting. However, the Somerset West Winelands, on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains and at the foothills of the Hottentots Holland mountain range, offers a fantastic array of quality food and wine tasting experiences.

The Somerset West wine region is often referred to as South Africa’s premium red wine area. Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are popular wine blends in the Somerset West area due to the warm ocean influence, moderate rainfall and sheltered grounds in the shadow of the Hottentots Holland mountain range.

Whale Watching: Whale watching False Bay: There are a many operators offering marine tours and trips in surrounding areas, particularly dolphin and whale-watching tours, and there are a restricted number of operators who offer close-encounter whale-watching as part of their boat-based whale watching operations. There are also several white shark cage diving operators along the coast.
